2TVegan mayo (I have also used vegan sour cream and/or vegan yogurt - any combo is great)
Garlic salt and lots of black pepper
The PORTO Burger
6Large portobello mushroomsGills removed and cleaned
1TomatoSliced
1OnionSliced
1BunchFresh, crisp lettuce
6Whole wheat bunsToasted on the grill
Instructions
Add all the marinade ingredients together and mix well.
Place the portobello's either in a 9 x 13 baking dish or a large freezer bag and cover with the marinade. I usually flip the portobello's or shake the bag a few times to make sure both sides are will covered. Leave for about 1 hour.
Mash the avocado's and mix with the mayo, garlic salt and pepper. Refrigerate will the portobella's marinate.
Once the portobello's are ready, place on a HOT grill. Grill on each side for 3 or 4 minutes. You want nice grill marks on each side, but don't overcook the portobello's.
Right at the end of your grilling, place the buns on the grill and get a nice toasting on the cut side.
Remove the portobello's and buns from the grill, add the avocado mayo and the fresh veggies and serve - ENJOY!
