One Person at a Time
I have been casually working on this blog/recipe site for a little over a month now. I am trying to add new content, but with the remodel work I am doing, it has been a little difficult. While I am happy with the site in its early stages, I haven’t really started to promote the site other than to a few friends and family. Recently, I have been more confident to share my site with people during conversations or discussions about my cooking or living a plant based life style. I have been thrilled with the response I get and I know that a number of non-plant based people have tried some recipes and really like them. Like I said – let’s make a change one person at a time. Maybe as this site grows, I can say I am making change Hundreds or Thousands of people at a time, but for now one at a time is just fine with me.
Family
Over this Easter Holiday weekend, we got the opportunity to host a family brunch and later a family dinner. The brunch is always interesting since it is with more extended family who aren’t interested in our plant based life in the least. They are the ones who almost cringe if you say something was made vegan. Again, one person at a time – my wife made wonderful vegan sugar cookies and was able to share them with some of the family. Their reply – “these are so awesome, even if they weren’t vegan!” Vegan cooking can and should provide big, bold, awesome flavors and tastes and ours does! For dinner I made a true Southern Vegan Easter meal – Mac & Cheese, Greens, Corn Bread Stuffing and Cheezy Scalloped potatoes and for dessert, Kelly made a killer 3 Layer Lemon and blueberry Cake. The true joy of cooking is seeing everyone sit around a table and enjoy the meal and each others company. I would call this dinner a SUCCESS!
I plan to post the recipes from our dinner soon. Now back to looking for a job and remodeling a house!
