For the Animals, Your health, Our environment

Our New Home

After almost 10 weeks of renovation, moving in and more renovation, I have a working kitchen and our new home is about 95% complete – It’s always that last 5 to 10% that kills you!  It turned out better than we expected and my wifes design skills are in full bloom throughout the house.  We still have some work on the inside to wrap up and we are starting move outside with landscaping, retaining walls and a lot more, but that’s for another post.

Being Vegan isn’t always easy!

Unless you are really committed to what I call the 3 Pillars of being Vegan, it is easy to stumble, especially when things get tough.  My 3 Pillars are –

  1. Committed to your health
  2. Committed to improving our environment
  3. Committed to animal welfare and understanding there is more to life than just what ME.

I can attest it wasn’t easy living between 2 homes, no functioning kitchen, working sun up to sun down on the renovation and our move.  Fast and quick food that is vegan and healthy isn’t always readily available and does take time to repair.  BUT it CAN BE DONE with just a little focus, planning and a commitment to the 3 pillars.  I made many dinners completely on our grill.  We bought easy and quick to make meals and made a lot so we could eat them for a number of days.  If you have a passion and commitment to something, you will find a way to make it work because it is that important to you – IT IS YOU!

Recipes are coming

Now that things are partially settled, I plan to get back to creating and adding great, bold vegan recipes for you to try and to enjoy.  I hope that even if you aren’t vegan, you decide to each plant based at least once or twice a week.  Every effort, no matter how small it seems will play a role in bettering your health, helping to improve our environment and to help improve the welfare of all animals.

Just a quick note – we have only been in our new neighborhood for a couple weeks, but one neighborhood was interested in trying one of my recipes and her family loved it!  And she told a neighbor and they told a neighbor and so on and it looks like we are starting a VEGAN WAVE!!!!!  Ok, I need to slow my roll a bit, but the first couple statements are true.  So, why don’t you try a recipe this week and let me know how it went.  Share my blog with your friends and you know what – we are starting another VEGAN WAVE!

Have a great day and week!
