Great Memories – Great Eats!
When my wife and I were younger, there were only a couple vegetarian restaurants in Grand Rapids. Our favorite was a cool placed called The Gaia House. When the kids were young, we would order take out for us from Gaia and pizza for the kids. They had a great veggie hash, black bean quesadilla and a number of other fantastic dishes, but our favorite was their Mean Green Burrito. OK, our favorite was their Gaia Cookie, but the burrito was a close 2nd. It has been years since they closed and I have finally come “close” to the original. I still give the nod to the Gaia House, but mine isn’t too bad. My wife has come up with a great clone of the Gaia Cookie as well – Ask and I might share that recipe!
