NEW HOME

Since I lost my job, we have been living in a rental home.  We were planning to sell our home even before I lost my job as we didn’t need such a big house now that our kids were starting to move out and start their own lives.  The other consideration was that right out of the gate, I was considered for roles in Connecticut and Maine, so it didn’t make sense to buy a home here when we didn’t know where this new adventure was going to take us.

Fast forward and we are still here and we decided renting sucked so we bought a home.  This will be the 4th home we purchased since we got married.  This is where “the same, but different” comes into play.  The first 3 homes we bought together – we each signed on the dotted line and off we went.  This time, because of my employment situation, the bank didn’t consider me for the mortgage, which meant at the closing I sat there as my wife bought a house (she promises she will let me live there).  IT WAS WEIRD.  Everything in our life and marriage we share 50/50.  And while I understand why it is the why it is right now, I can’t help but feel…..well, WEIRD.

I am so proud of my wife and I am in awe of what a great teacher she is.  She earned this home with her hard work and dedication to her craft.  She truly makes a difference in her students lives.  Her goal is to connect with each and every student in her classes.  Sometimes that connection happens in the first week and other times it takes her focus and commitment for most of the year – but it happens.

So, off WE go to OUR 4th home.  My plan is to earn the right  to live there by executing the long list of To Do’s to get the home ready for us – not that I’m worried!

BACK TO FOOD

I currently have over 40 recipes up on the site.  The response so far has been really good – surprisingly good.  I haven’t done anything to promote the site as I wanted to get enough content loaded to capture your attention and make you want to come back again and again.  I am starting to realize that while I still have a lot recipes to upload, I need to start working on some new ideas for the future.  That is good – I want to start pushing my boundaries as a vegan cook and this is exactly the motivation I need.  I would also love to hear any thoughts or ideas you have.  What dishes would you line Veganized?  I will do it so we can both enjoy them.

So far this has been a great experience.  I love sharing my passion for plant based eating.   This has allowed me to communicate my 3 pillars of becoming a vegan, share with you my views without preaching, given me an outlet to share my life and hopefully given you a reason to try a plant based recipe or two.  I promise to keep working at this, adding more content, listening to your feedback and in the end making all of us just a little bit better.
